Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2

Call of duty: Modern Warfare 2 Preview
Arguably one of the most anticipated games of this generation is set to be released on consoles and PC this November (10.11.09). In my opinion the last instalment was quiet simply the best multiplayer online gaming experience to date. Fast paced action with rewards and achievements to be unlocked makes Call of duty a rewarding and addicting experience for gamers. The in game chat on Xbox Live is simply amazing and makes it that much sweeter when you can brag and boast whilst killing your opponents.
Modern Warfare 2 promises more of the same online game play and to be honest there’s not much I’d like to see changed. Slightly better graphics and maybe a little less lag would not hurt, however the developers don’t have a huge task at hand in terms of developing a new online multiplayer campaign.
The single player campaign was also a great experience and although the game was rather linear at times it was still really fun to play first time round; did I ever play the single player campaign again? Well the answer to that was no, there’s not much replay value in the single player campaign, but in my opinion call of duty modern warfare was all about the online multiplayer campaign. Till this day thousands of people play every single day and I simply can’t get enough of it.
What I’d like to see in the next instalment
Although Call of duty: Modern Warfare One was a great game with a solid single player campaign, it was rather short and restricted in terms of the freedom the player has. I’d like to see a more developed plot with more weapons and situations where you can use your weapons and surroundings in more than one way to cause damage to your enemies. More infiltration type missions where a more strategic approach is needed would make the game more enjoyable. They should of course include more of the same however more developed side missions such as the sniper ghillie suit mission would be nice. The story line was not bad but it was rather rushed, I would love to see a more developed story with characters which gamers can relate to. Games like metal gear solid and gears of war draw gamers in because gamers can relate to the characters in the games.
After seeing some of the pre release footage the game does look like it will be an absolute winner, and hopefully it will live up to its enormous hype. I’m sure the next game will be just as good as the last if not better and no matter what I’ll definitely be grabbing a copy come 10th November.
